Administrator of Admissions, Outreach & Intake

Pay: $190,000 - $210,000 per year

About the Role

​

We are seeking an experienced leader to oversee Community Outreach Services, Admitting, and Intake. This position reports directly to senior leadership and plays a key role in coordinating patient admissions, building strong relationships with referring partners, and ensuring smooth operations across multiple departments.

​

As the Director of Outreach, Admitting, and Intake, you will monitor service delivery, manage staff performance, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and foster collaboration across hospital departments and external organizations.

​

Key Responsibilities

​

Program Oversight & Liaison

  • Continuously monitor and assess the delivery of outreach, admitting, and intake services, implementing improvements as needed.

  • Act as liaison between the hospital and referring institutions, providers, and managed care organizations.

  • Engage in marketing efforts to promote programs and services.

  • Facilitate patient admissions and reimbursement processes, including oversight of appeals for denied cases.

  • Conduct interdepartmental meetings to review quality and utilization of services.

  • Serve on hospital committees and attend relevant meetings and seminars.

  • Ensure manuals and departmental documentation remain current.

  • Uphold ethical practice standards, compliance policies, and the organization’s code of conduct.

 

Staff & Performance Management

  • Oversee and participate in the budget process for assigned departments.

  • Complete and review performance appraisals for direct reports and other staff.

  • Collaborate with Finance to manage insurance-related processes (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers).

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and accountability for staff performance and departmental outcomes.

 

Safety & Quality

  • Encourage staff to report safety concerns without fear of reprisal.

  • Develop and implement recommendations for patient safety improvements.

  • Monitor and support the hospital’s patient safety program.

  • Maintain current knowledge of regulatory requirements impacting patient services.

 

Planning & Integration

  • Integrate outreach, admitting, and intake services into daily hospital operations in alignment with mission and philosophy.

  • Develop departmental goals and objectives to support organizational priorities.

 

Qualifications

​

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or related field (Master’s preferred)

  • Proven leadership experience in hospital admitting, intake, or outreach services

  • Strong knowledge of managed care, reimbursement processes, and regulatory requirements

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Commitment to patient safety, compliance, and compassionate service delivery
