Position Summary
​
** Must have EXTENSIVE fundraising experience, in Vermont.
This leadership role drives strategic visibility, engagement, and philanthropic growth for a regional healthcare system. The Director oversees fundraising, marketing, public relations, government affairs, community outreach, and market research—ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

Serve as a member of the Senior Management Team, contributing a development-oriented perspective to executive decisions.

Evaluate departmental performance against goals and implement improvements in response to organizational, industry, or community changes.

Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with strategic priorities.
Marketing & Communications
-
Design and execute annual marketing plans and promotional campaigns.

Maintain brand consistency across all communications and media.

Act as organizational spokesperson; manage press relations and media inquiries.

Draft and edit press releases and byline articles to reflect strategic messaging.

Oversee PR and marketing agency relationships.

Monitor healthcare legislation and advise executive leadership on implications.

Coordinate speaking engagements and awards programs for staff and physicians.

Lead planning and execution of special events and community presentations.
Fundraising & Development

Plan and direct fundraising initiatives targeting individuals, corporations, and philanthropic organizations.

Implement campaigns using direct mail, personal solicitation, benefit events, and planned giving strategies.

Cultivate donor relationships through stewardship and recognition programs.

Generate non-operating revenue through grants and contributions to support strategic initiatives.
Education & Experience
Required:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Organizational Planning, or related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare or nonprofit administration.

At least 2 years in a managerial role focused on planning, marketing, or public relations.
Preferred:
-
5+ years in healthcare administration with emphasis on strategic outreach and development.
