Job Summary

​

Seeking an experienced Director of Surgical Services to lead non-clinical operations across perioperative departments. This role oversees scheduling, staffing, budgeting, vendor coordination, and regulatory compliance. No direct patient care is required.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the Operating Room, PACU, Ambulatory Surgery, Infusion, and Central Sterile

• Lead recruitment, scheduling, and labor management based on caseload and skill mix

• Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to optimize OR availability

• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards

• Oversee equipment, supplies, and facility readiness for safe and efficient care

• Support change management and process improvement initiatives

• Monitor service metrics and drive operational excellence

• Interpret financial reports and manage departmental productivity and expenses

• Build effective cross-functional relationships and promote service standards

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Business, Nursing, or related field (Master’s preferred)

• Minimum 5 years of experience in surgical services or hospital operations

• At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role

• Certification in Operating Room Nursing is a plus, but not required

• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

• Ability to manage complex workflows and lead multidisciplinary teams

 

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Requires standing, walking, lifting, and occasional emergency response

• May involve irregular hours and on-call responsibilities

• Exposure to clinical equipment and unpredictable situations
