Overview

​

A growing healthcare organization is expanding its cardiovascular service line with the launch of a state‑of‑the‑art Cardiac Catheterization Lab and the enhancement of its Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. We are seeking an experienced, forward‑thinking Director of the Cardiac Cath Lab & Cardiac Rehab—a Registered Nurse (RN) leader who can provide both strategic direction and hands‑on clinical oversight.

This high‑impact leadership role is responsible for building and managing a comprehensive continuum of cardiovascular care—from invasive cardiac procedures through outpatient rehabilitation—ensuring quality, safety, operational excellence, and exceptional patient outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities

Cardiac Catheterization Lab Leadership

  • Provide operational oversight and direct daily functions of the Cardiac Cath Lab

  • Develop and implement clinical policies, protocols, and workflows in collaboration with medical staff

  • Ensure regulatory compliance, evidence‑based practice, and continuous quality improvement (CQI)

  • Manage staffing, scheduling, training, and performance evaluations

  • Partner with interventional cardiologists, imaging technologists, and nursing teams to ensure seamless care coordination

  • Monitor and report clinical, operational, and financial performance metrics

  • Lead initiatives to promote patient safety, satisfaction, and high‑quality outcomes

Cardiac Rehabilitation Program Oversight

  • Oversee planning, delivery, and evaluation of the outpatient Cardiac Rehab Program

  • Ensure services meet national standards (e.g., AACVPR) and maintain program accreditation

  • Collaborate with physicians, exercise physiologists, dietitians, and behavioral health specialists to deliver individualized care plans

  • Implement strategies to improve patient participation, outcomes, and long‑term cardiovascular health

  • Track key performance indicators such as readmission rates, exercise tolerance, and adherence

  • Develop community outreach initiatives to increase program awareness and referrals

 

Requirements

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required

  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field strongly preferred

Licensure & Certifications

  • Current NY State Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility

  • BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association) required

  • RCIS or CCRP certification preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in a cardiac catheterization lab

  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in cardiovascular services, cardiac rehab, or critical care

  • Experience with program development or expansion strongly preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong leadership, team‑building, and communication skills

  • Knowledge of cardiac rehab standards, clinical exercise physiology, and cardiovascular risk management

  • Familiarity with data tracking systems and performance dashboards

  • Experience with outpatient care coordination and patient education

  • Experience with STEMI program creation or expansion highly preferred
