Position Overview

A leading hospital in NY is seeking a Gastroenterologist to join its growing GI program. This is a high-impact opportunity to deliver comprehensive gastroenterology care in a community-focused hospital serving one of NYC’s most diverse and underserved populations. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical judgment, excellent procedural skills (colonoscopy and endoscopy), and a passion for community-based care.
Key Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopies and upper endoscopies

Provide patient-centered GI care to a diverse urban population

Collaborate with primary care physicians, specialists, and hospital staff

Optional involvement in teaching medical students or residents (if affiliated)

Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and patient satisfaction
Reports To: Chair, Gastroenterology
Core Responsibilities
Clinical Gastroenterology (65%)

Diagnose and manage a full spectrum of GI conditions

Perform routine and advanced endoscopic procedures

Document care using Epic EMR
Team-Based Care (25%)

Work closely with RNs, PAs, and hospital support teams

Participate in multidisciplinary collaboration and care coordination
Community & Education (10%)

Optional teaching or mentorship

Support patient education and community outreach initiatives
Candidate Non-Negotiables

Active New York State Medical License and DEA
-
MD or DO from an accredited institution

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology

Strong procedural competency and bedside manner
