Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced healthVASCULARcare IT leader to serve as Interim Director of Clinical Systems & Informatics, with oversight of Meditech Client/Server, Athena One, and Clinical Informatics initiatives.
The Interim Director will provide hands-on leadership in system administration, clinical workflows, data integrity, and strategic alignment of health IT systems to organizational goals.

This individual will bridge the gap between clinical operations, IT, and vendors, ensuring optimal system performance and adoption during a period of transition.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Oversight

Provide interim leadership for Meditech Client/Server, Athena One, and clinical informatics initiatives.

Lead cross-functional collaboration between IT, clinical, and operational leaders to ensure system usability and compliance.

Serve as the escalation point for critical system issues, downtime events, and vendor management.
System Management

Oversee Meditech Client/Server environments, ensuring stability, patching, and regulatory compliance.

Manage Athena One workflows, templates, and reporting to support ambulatory operations.

Coordinate upgrades, optimizations, and integration efforts across both systems.

Partner with Information Security to maintain HIPAA, NIST, and other regulatory requirements.
Informatics & Optimization

Lead clinical informatics efforts to optimize workflows, improve user adoption, and align with best practices.

Facilitate development of standardized order sets, documentation templates, and data dictionaries.

Collaborate with Finance, Quality, and Operations to develop analytics that support performance improvement.
Governance & Strategy

Contribute to IT governance and decision-making processes related to EHRs and informatics.

Ensure alignment with organizational priorities, regulatory changes, and value-based care initiatives.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Information Systems, Nursing, or related field (Master’s preferred).

7+ years of progressive experience in healthcare IT leadership, including direct oversight of EHR systems.

Hands-on experience with Meditech Client/Server and Athena One required.

Strong knowledge of clinical informatics, workflow redesign, and healthcare regulatory requirements.

Excellent communication skills, with ability to work effectively across clinical, operational, and IT teams.

Proven ability to lead through transition and provide stability during periods of change.
