A community‑focused hospital in Far Rockaway, NY is seeking a dedicated Internal Medicine Physician to join its inpatient medical team. Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

• Provide comprehensive inpatient internal medicine care to adult patients

• Perform admissions, daily rounding, and discharge planning

• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions

• Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate specialty referrals

• Respond to urgent clinical issues on the medical floors

• Document all encounters accurately and promptly in the EMR

Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with hospitalists, PAs/NPs, nursing, case management, and ancillary teams

• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care coordination meetings

• Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow‑up needs

Quality & Safety

• Adhere to evidence‑based guidelines and hospital protocols

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives

• Support a culture of safety, respect, and patient‑centered care

 

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine

• Current or eligible New York State medical license

• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills

• Commitment to compassionate, patient‑centered care

 

Schedule & Work Environment

• Full‑time hospital‑based position

• Rotating schedule (days, evenings, weekends, holidays as needed)
