Responsibilities

Examine patients: Conduct physical exams, evaluate reflexes, coordination, and muscle tone

Collect samples: Collect spinal fluid or other samples

Run tests: Order and interpret neurological tests and neuroimaging studies

Prescribe medication: Prescribe and administer medication and other treatments

Counsel patients: Counsel patients on neurological disorders and their medical history
-
Manage treatments: Monitor treatment plans to ensure they are effective and adapt to patients' health statuses

Participate in research: Participate in neuroscience research, clinical trials, and clinical research

Collaborate with other doctors: Work with other doctors to decide the best course of treatment

Stay current: Stay up-to-date with current research and techniques in neurology
Additional Responsibilities

Order supportive care services for patients

Liaise with medical professionals in the community and hospitals

Monitor the behavioral and cognitive side effects of treatment and medication

Diagnose and treat neurological disorders and diseases.

Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as EEGs, MRIs, and CT scans.

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.

Educate patients and their families about neurological conditions and treatments.

Stay updated on the latest advancements in neurology and medical research.

Participate in clinical trials and research projects, if applicable.

Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
Requirements

Medical degree and completion of a neurology residency program.

Board certification in neurology or eligibility to obtain certification.

Strong knowledge of neurological disorders and treatments.

Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
