Job description

Schedule: 2 Days/Week

  • 1 Day Surgical (OR-based)

  • 1 Day Clinical (Outpatient consultations and follow-up)

 

Role Overview

​

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Breast Surgeon to join our multidisciplinary oncology team on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for a board-certified surgeon with expertise in breast cancer surgery, including lumpectomies, mastectomies, and oncologic reconstruction coordination. The position offers a balanced schedule of one surgical day and one clinical day per week, allowing for focused, high-impact patient care.

Key Responsibilities

​

  • Perform breast cancer surgeries including lumpectomies, mastectomies, and sentinel lymph node biopsies

  • Conduct outpatient consultations, pre-operative assessments, and post-operative follow-ups

  • Collaborate with medical oncologists, radiologists, plastic surgeons, and nurse navigators

  • Participate in tumor boards and contribute to individualized treatment planning

  • Educate patients and families on surgical options, risks, and recovery expectations

  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with clinical protocols and quality standards

 

Qualifications

  • MD or DO with board certification in General Surgery

  • Fellowship training in Breast Surgery or Surgical Oncology preferred

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in breast cancer surgery

  • Proficiency in oncologic surgical techniques and multidisciplinary care coordination

  • Strong communication skills and patient-centered approach

  • Eligible for medical licensure in New York
