Position Summary
 

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide high-quality psychiatric care to patients across the continuum of mental health services. In this role, you will perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, manage psychotropic medications, and collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to support patient stabilization, recovery, and long-term wellness.

 

Key Responsibilities
 

• Conduct psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and ongoing treatment planning

• Provide medication management and monitor therapeutic response and side effects

• Manage patients with acute and chronic psychiatric conditions

• Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and therapists

• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care conferences

• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses and treatment options

• Respond to psychiatric crises and support safety planning as needed

• Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the electronic health record

• Support discharge planning and continuity of care

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and program development

 

Qualifications
 

• Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing

• Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)

• Active or eligible state APRN license

• DEA registration (or ability to obtain)

• Strong clinical assessment and psychopharmacology skills

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in inpatient psychiatry, acute care, or integrated behavioral health

• Comfort managing high-acuity patient populations

• Interest in teaching, mentoring, or leadership
