Position Summary
​
A well-established hospital in Queens is seeking a Rheumatologist to join its expanding specialty care team. This is a high-impact opportunity to provide comprehensive rheumatologic care to a diverse, underserved patient population within a supportive, hospital-employed model. The ideal candidate is clinically strong, patient-centered, and motivated to build long-term community relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and manage a full spectrum of rheumatologic conditions, including: Rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, gout, vasculitis, and connective tissue disorders

Provide longitudinal outpatient rheumatology care with limited inpatient consults (if applicable)

Develop and oversee treatment plans including biologics and infusion coordination

Collaborate with Primary Care, Orthopedics, Nephrology, and other specialists

Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient education
Clinical Focus

Outpatient-dominant rheumatology practice

High demand and established referral base

Candidate Qualifications (Non-Negotiables)
-
MD or DO from an accredited medical school
-
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Rheumatology

Eligible for or holding an active New York State Medical License

DEA registration or eligibility

Excellent clinical judgment and patient communication skills

Commitment to serving a diverse, urban patient population
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in hospital-employed or community-based practice

Interest in treating complex, chronic rheumatologic disease

Multilingual skills a plus (reflective of Far Rockaway’s population)
