Join a forward-thinking radiation oncology team serving multiple cancer centers across Jackson, MS. As Senior Medical Physicist, you’ll bring deep clinical expertise and strategic insight to a high-impact role that blends hands-on physics work with leadership, protocol development, and academic collaboration.

You’ll work closely with the Chief Physicist to drive innovation, support complex treatment planning, and help shape the future of cancer care in the region.
What You’ll Lead & Support
Team Coordination & Leadership
-
Help manage staffing across metro cancer centers to ensure consistent, high-quality patient care.

Support cross-training initiatives to build depth and flexibility for specialized services like IORT, TBI, and CyberKnife®.

Collaborate on metro-wide protocols, performance improvement, and technology rollouts.
Clinical Physics & Quality Assurance

Lead treatment planning for complex cases and serve as a clinical resource for staff physicists.

Perform acceptance testing, commissioning, and QA for linear accelerators, planning systems, and physics equipment.

Review and validate treatment plans, offering consultative support to physicians.
Research & Education

Contribute to clinical research efforts through the Cancer Center Clinical Trials Committee.

Participate in Graduate Medical Education (GME) for radiology residents, focusing on radiation oncology training.
Compliance & Documentation

Maintain rigorous quality control and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.

Document all aspects of physics services and patient care.

Engage in safety initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
What You Bring
Education & Certification
-
Master’s in Medical Physics or related field
-
Board Eligible via ABR; ABR certification preferred (triple certification highly valued)

BLS certification within 14 days of hire
Experience
-
10+ years in a progressive radiation oncology setting
-
Expertise in HDR, IMRT, and stereotactic treatment delivery
-
Academic or teaching experience is a plus
