Position Overview

 

The System Director, Talent & Workforce Experience is a senior strategic leader responsible for shaping, advancing, and sustaining workforce culture, capability, and overall employee experience. This role provides enterprise-wide leadership across a broad and interconnected portfolio, including workforce engagement, organizational culture, organizational effectiveness, onboarding and new employee experience, retention, leadership and executive development, succession planning, and system-wide learning.

 

This position also oversees governance of learning initiatives and compliance, while actively supporting large-scale workforce excellence and recognition initiatives aligned with industry standards.

 

As a core member of the HR leadership team, this role serves as the internal architect of culture transformation — translating organizational values into tangible workforce behaviors, leadership practices, and employee experiences. This leader plays a key role in driving cultural integration efforts, embedding psychological safety, just culture principles, and high-reliability practices into daily operations.

 

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in culture-building, organizational development, and leadership capability — combined with strong executive presence and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, from frontline teams to executive leadership.
 

Education & Experience (Minimum Required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or related field required

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive HR or OD experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role focused on talent, culture, learning, or organizational effectiveness

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, MS-OD, or equivalent) strongly preferred

  • Proven experience leading culture transformation or organizational change within large, complex organizations (3,000+ employees; 5,000+ preferred)

  • Experience in healthcare or other regulated industries strongly preferred; familiarity with workforce compliance standards, high-reliability frameworks, and clinical workforce dynamics is a plus

  • Experience designing and facilitating executive development and succession planning processes at senior leadership levels

 

Preferred Skills & Certifications

  • Proficiency with Workday HCM, particularly learning, talent, and reporting modules

  • Experience with LMS platforms (e.g., Skillsoft Percipio or similar)

  • Strong ability to build and present workforce analytics, engagement insights, and culture dashboards to executive audiences

  • Familiarity with employee engagement methodologies, high-reliability frameworks, and culture transformation models

  • Experience with organizational design, change management frameworks (e.g., Prosci, Kotter), and team effectiveness tools

  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, ATD CPTD, or OD-related certifications preferred

  • Knowledge of professional excellence and workforce recognition frameworks is a plus
