Job Summary
​
We are seeking a highly skilled and board-certified or board-eligible Vascular Surgeon to join our established surgical team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive consultation, evaluation, diagnosis, and surgical and endovascular treatment for patients with a full spectrum of arterial, venous, and lymphatic disorders. This role requires clinical excellence, dedication to patient-centered care, and a commitment to advancing the field through quality improvement and education.

Key Responsibilities

I. Clinical Practice and Patient Care

Comprehensive Vascular Care: Provide expert medical and surgical management for the full range of vascular diseases, including:

Treatment of peripheral arterial disease (PAD), including open bypass and complex endovascular interventions.

Management of carotid artery disease, including carotid endarterectomy and stenting.
-
Repair of aortic aneurysms (Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm/AAA), including open and Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR/TEVAR).

Creation and maintenance of dialysis access (fistulas and grafts).
-
Management of venous disease, including deep vein thrombosis (DVT), varicose veins, and venous insufficiency.

Treatment of vascular trauma and complex wound care related to vascular insufficiency.

Surgical and Procedural Excellence: Perform advanced open surgical, minimally invasive, and hybrid vascular procedures in the operating room and dedicated procedural suites.

Consultation and Critical Care: Provide timely consultation services to the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Units, and other inpatient services, managing complex and emergent vascular cases.

Outpatient Clinic: Maintain an active outpatient practice for follow-up, disease management, and preventative screening.
II. Education, Quality, and Compliance

Quality Improvement: Participate actively in quality assurance, peer review, and continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives related to vascular surgery outcomes, patient safety, and efficiency.

Medical Education: If affiliated with an academic center, participate in the teaching and mentorship of surgical residents, fellows, and medical students, providing bedside instruction and didactic lectures.

Documentation: Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant documentation of all clinical services, procedures, and billing information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).

Compliance: Adhere strictly to all hospital policies, surgical protocols, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS).
III. Professionalism and Collaboration

Interdisciplinary Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with cardiologists, interventional radiologists, primary care physicians, nephrologists, wound care specialists, and vascular lab personnel to ensure comprehensive, integrated patient management.

Professional Development: Remain current with advancements in the field by participating in CME activities, professional meetings, and maintaining all required certifications.

Call Coverage: Participate in the shared surgical call rotation as required by the Department of Surgery.
Qualifications

Education: M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.

Residency/Fellowship: Completion of an accredited General Surgery Residency program followed by an accredited Vascular Surgery Fellowship (or equivalent integrated residency).

Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible (BE/BC) in Vascular Surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS) or equivalent board.

Licensure: Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in [State].

DEA: Valid DEA registration.

Experience: Proficiency in both open surgical and endovascular techniques is required.
